I’m also working on a one-off mini about Turkish knock-offs. Turkey was (is?) pretty magnificent for making terrible (read: great) versions of big Hollywood movies.

Tarzan in Istanbull
It all began in 1952 when Hollywood released Tarzan’s Savage Fury. Turkey retaliated by releasing Tarzan Istanbul’da (Tarzan in Istanbul). I’m not quite sure how Tarzan goes from tree swinging in the jungle to suddenly landing in Istanbul, but I’m sure it was a great idea at the time.
